Sarasota based AltMed Enterprises, through its affiliate AltMed Florida, has announced its flagship MÜV™ Medical Cannabis Dispensary is scheduled to open Friday, August 10, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at 5045 Fruitville Road in the Cobia Bay Plaza. Opening date is contingent on receiving approval from the Florida Department of Health’s Office of Medical Marijuana Use.
AltMed Florida’s MÜV dispensary is located one mile west of the Fruitville Road exit off I-75. The site has convenient roadside visibility, is ADA compliant, and will be the 2nd of the 25 planned MÜV Dispensaries throughout the state of Florida, but this one has special meaning to the AltMed Enterprises team.
According to AltMed Enterprises Chairman and CEO Michael Smullen, “We founded this company nearly 4 years ago in Sarasota with the mission to bring the safest and highest quality medical cannabis products to patients in our community and region. The Sarasota MÜV opening is an important step in fulfilling that mission, yet it’s really only the beginning of serving patients in Sarasota and throughout Florida.”
“Our MÜV Medical Cannabis line of products already has a wide following in other legal medical cannabis markets, including Arizona where it has won 5 Best of Arizona medical cannabis awards,” said AltMed Enterprises President and COO Matthew Duffy. “We are thrilled to finally bring MÜV to Sarasota, where patients will be able to access our comprehensive and continually expanding portfolio of products, formulations and delivery methods to best serve each individual’s needs.”
MÜV Products offer an extensive variety of delivery methods, including several that are unique in Florida, led by its patent-pending 72-hour transdermal patches, transdermal gels and metered dose inhalers. Products will come high in CBD or THC as well as CBD/THC balanced formulations. Product categories include topicals, transdermal patches, metered dose inhalers, distillate vaporizer pens (without any cutting agents), all-natural terpene enriched vaporizer pens, oral sprays, tinctures and concentrates.
MÜV Products will be sold exclusively in Florida at ‘MÜV by AltMed’ dispensaries because, unlike other states, Florida does not allow wholesale of product between license holders – only products that license holders produce themselves can be sold in their dispensaries.
The dispensary itself will also differ from the stereotypes many associate with medical cannabis, according to AltMed Florida’s Marketing Director Todd Beckwith. “The MÜV retail experience speaks to the role of medical cannabis products in the modern healthcare marketplace. We learned that MÜV customers in other medical cannabis states are more apt to take an active role in managing their healthcare than with traditional medicine. Patients want to understand the products and the research behind the products. For this patient we created a layered and informative retail experience that emphasizes the MÜV brand and lifestyle at every turn.”
Designed by Sarasota’s Jesse Balaity of Balaity Property Enhancement along with local architect Patrick M. Pillot, the dispensary reception welcomes patients into a warm and inviting environment. Beyond reception, the retail environment encourages interaction at multiple levels for product research, in-depth product exploration or guidance with MÜV staff in a private consultation area. In addition, patients can access MUV products with a call to the dispensary to place an order for express pick-up, or for delivery, patients within a 25 mile range of the dispensary may order online at http://www.altmedflorida.com.
Security will meet all Florida regulations and Sarasota ordinances including security cameras throughout, lock safes, silent alarms systems and multiple security systems 24/7. In addition, all employees must pass a level-2 background check and wear state ID’s at all times.
